Season restarts at the Teatro Sociale in Rovigo

A traditional opera theatre since 1967, and the third regional opera centre after the Arena di Verona and Fondazione Teatro La Fenice, Rovigo’s Teatro Sociale is a reference point for many opera fans.
Great names in international opera have made their debuts here, including Beniamino Gigli and Renata Tebaldi, and Maria Callas and Luciano Pavarotti have also graced its stage.

Once again this year, the Sociale is ready to reopen to the city, offering a very rich Season that ranges from opera – think, the 209th Season – to dance, from concerts to prose, continuing the important collaboration with the prestigious ‘Francesco Venezze’ Conservatory of Rovigo.
A varied calendar with artists of national and international calibre. A theatre that makes itself a home for beauty and culture and that this year makes its spaces open to the public thanks to guided tours of its interiors and to the stage design and tailoring workshops located on the outskirts of the city.

There is also a focus on children and schools with the Theatre at School and the numerous workshops that will help them discover the magical world of the stage and the behind-the-scenes activities that accompany performances.

A not-to-be-missed opportunity not only to attend the shows, but also to spend a few days’ holiday visiting the theatre and discovering the historical-artistic heritage of Rovigo and the many villages not far away, where you can find villas-palaces, museums large and small, sacred places without forgetting nature and the flavours of land and water that the “Land between Adige and Po” knows how to offer with taste and spirit.
